The difference between 'safe laser rangefinder' and 'unsafe laser rangefinder'

by:UMeasure     2020-04-21
At present, laser rangefinders on the market are divided into 'safe' and 'unsafe'. As the name implies, laser rangefinders use laser as the main working material to work. There are mainly the following categories: Semiconductor lasers with working wavelengths of 905 nm and 1540 nm, and YAG lasers with working wavelengths of 1064 nm. A wavelength of 1064 nm is harmful to human skin and eyes, especially if the eyes accidentally come into contact with a laser with a wavelength of 1064 nm, the damage to the eyes may be permanent. Therefore, in foreign countries, 1064 nm lasers have been completely banned in hand-held laser rangefinders. In China, some manufacturers also produce 1064 nm laser rangefinders. For 905 nm and 1540 nm laser rangefinders, we call them 'safe. For 1064 nm laser rangefinder, because it has potential harm to human body, we call it 'unsafe.
