HOUSTON (AP)—
A Houston man was sentenced to four years in federal prison for using laser patrols on a Texas public security helicopter.
Prosecutors say 20-year-
Old Brian Aldana was sentenced in Houston on Monday for the June 2018 incident.
In April, Aldana admitted to targeting a laser indicator at a plane.
When the green light lights up the left side of the helicopter, DPS agents are flying over Houston.
When the laser lights up the cockpit, the pilot backs up and the helicopter is targeted again.
The prosecutor said the pilot had to close his eyes and cover his eyes.
Authorities say security footage from Houston police and nearby shops later helped identify the suspects seen in a chair near a car and pointed to the seized laser.
