laser light distance measurement How To Build An RC Helicopter From Scratch

by:UMeasure     2019-07-14

It can be fun to build a custom helicopter that will allow you the flexibility to add it using the camera and other creative improvements.Creating your own helicopter will not only save you money, but will also give you an idea of how to improve your helicopter and even make another one. This article will be opened, step-by-Step by step, build your own parts and directions.Keep in mind that most of the content of this tutorial is based on a personal experience.
How many arms do you need?
First of all, you should first determine what you will do using a helicopter.Because when making this decision, the number of arms, the length of the arm, the size of the motor and other hardware are all important, so you should first figure it out, not to say that one can be used for the other, because they better optimize the performance of the machine.

If you plan to record using a helicopter, you may need to optimize it for a stable playback. Therefore, it is recommended to use longer arms and a slightly slower Kv motor. To reduce the pressure on the parts (you'll want it if you plan to ship a heavy-duty camera), you should consider having more arms (six arms = hexacopter, eight arms = eight arms ).Whether you are building a three-point meter or an eight-point meter, the program is relatively the same.

While I don't recommend this setting for beginners, some prefer a more compact, lighter helicopter setup for better manipulation, making it easier to perform stunts. How many arms you have on a helicopter are purely personal preferences, however, a lot of people like tricopters to perform stunts because they have a servo mechanism that can make yaws faster (directions)

As a hobby-Focus the helicopter and you don't have to focus on specific designs or components. You will not be limited by these factors.
This tutorial will assume that you use it for personal enjoyment or as a hobby for you, but I will use a compact helicopter design.Your part does not have to match the part I chose to use for the build. This is a great part of building yourself-You build it to your liking!

.No matter how rough the 3D model is, it doesn't matter; It is important that you communicate your thoughts visually so that you can plan your thoughts so that others who help you (if any) can see yoursRead this tutorial and try to design your own helicopter in Sketchup, as I do, if you feel capable and in need (below ).

You need some parts to start your build.Depending on how many arms you wantHelicopter, your list will be different.
Frame (I will use compact helicopter) $49 [1.
Transmitter [1] $139.
[1] Receiver for $29 (with transmitter ).
Battery (5000 mA) $49 [1.
Flight Control Board (kk2.0) [1] $29.
Distribution panel [1] $3.
[12] $12 propeller (not too much ).
The number of x arms of the electronic speed controller (ESC) [3] $38.
The number of Motos x weapons [3] $28.
Servo [1] $7.
Upgrade the firmware for KK2) [1] $4.
$3 bullet connector [20.
Prop balancer (optional) $5 [1.
Servo tester (optional) [1] $6.
Connector for Dean (optional) [x] $7.

.
Overall, the list adds up to just over $300.You can skip the servo tester if you want to get close to $300, but everything else is very necessary.
multi-

) Just $100 (keep in mind that both the transmitter and the camera are available, so it's a good deal ).Otherwise, start placing your order as HobbyKing likes to take the time to ship.I suggest you bookmark this page for later reading.

Once you finally get the parts in The Mail (which seems to take forever), you should update your motherboard before you start manipulating your frames and flying, balance your propeller and motor, and, as we all know, flash your ESCs (if any ).These three updates are required only if these three updates update the firmware of the motherboard or if you have damaged the parts/props.

I highly recommend updating the hardware and balancing the props to maximize the stability and responsiveness of the helicopter.
-
First of all, it is very easy to upgrade the flight control board and often a lot of improvements will be added, so you should try to update your motherboard every time an update is released.
Insert the 6-pin USBasp connector into the 6-pin on the left side of the button and connect it to the computer.
The driver will fail--

Extract the compressed file and pay attention to where it is on the computer.
Navigate to control panel-> Devices and Printers-> USBasp -> right click -> properties -> Hardware (tab )-> Properties -> Update the driver...-> Navigate the folder you just downloaded-> Complete and close the window.

(Scroll down to download and download the latest KKmulticopter flash tool) extract the compressed file and pay attention to where it is on your computer.

Select the latest firmware update for kk2.0 in the drop-down list (the author should be KapteinKuk ).
Click the green button on the right side of the screen to start flashing.
You will receive a confirmation message (which should be less than a minute) when it is finished ).
-
Flashing or updating the firmware in the ESCs is definitely an improvement that should be considered.

Do a little surgery on your ESCs, but flashing it can improve the response time and efficiency of the motor.

If you are interested in doing this (I will, but mine is not compatible with SimonK flash ).

Balancing your props is a key part of preparing for a helicopter flight. It reduces vibration and simply helps overall performance. You need your props, two cups (same size, smooth material) and some sandpaper.

.
Put the props between the two cups to determine which side is heavy (the heavy side will fall ).

side.Be careful not to sand too much--Check the balance frequently.
Also avoid sanding the front and rear edges of the blade.
The center part may be unbalanced when they are balanced horizontally, so position the blade vertically and determine how it falls-It is heavy on one side, so some sand should be sprinkled.Alternatively, you can add a little glue on the other side to reduce the weight, but I prefer the sanding method to minimize air resistance.
Now your blade should stay still, but it faces the Cup.
-
This step is a bit difficult due to the sensitivity and difficulty of assessing the weight distribution. You will need to connect the motor to your ESC and board (see below) and screw it to a fixed position.
Determine with the shake-free iseismotor app.
Tape the motor and repeat the process. If the situation is worse, please move the tape around the motor. When you find a place to reduce vibration, add the tape until it reduces performance. You can see the process in the third video below.
Install your motor on the ruler with a zipper or tape, attach a mirror next to the motor (on the ruler), and then shine the laser on the mirror, bounce it back to the Wall (further distance = more accurate measurement ).
Tape the motor and repeat the process. If the situation is worse, please move the tape around the motor. When you find a place to reduce vibration, add the tape until it reduces performance.
Once it's done, your new work will be balanced, updated and ready to install!

If you like building things (you might do this if you're reading this) then you should really like the next step! You are now ready to equip the helicopter with all the components on hand.If this is the first time you do something like this, don't worry, it's not hard. The design you (and may or may not) made earlier should help with the body's settings.Once you have found the location for your own helicopter and welded the parts together, your next and final step is to set up and connect your kk2.0 Flight Control Board (brain of operation ).

The features provided by Hobby King are very helpful in explaining the features and initial settings of each feature.Starting from here, in order to get the perfect flight, you need to fine tune your settings. You're in the air now--have fun!
